Role Summary

The Director, Global Development Strategic Partnerships will identify, execute and manage strategic relationships with external organizations to support Regeneron’s Global Clinical Development and broader R&D objectives. This role involves building productive external partnerships, drafting and executing contracts, and coordinating across a matrix of internal teams to enable effective collaboration and continuity throughout the life of each agreement. The position requires collaboration across functions, thoughtful leadership, and the ability to develop internal capabilities that are valued by external partners and internal stakeholders. This role is hybrid and requires on-site work four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with multiple business functions (including, but not limited to: Research, Development, Commercial, Business Development, Site Operations, Vendor Management, Clinical Trial Management, Innovation, Project Management, Medical Affairs, Strategic Alliances, Global Trial Optimization, etc).
  • Help create a long-term, company-wide strategy to leverage external collaborations for clinical trials, translational and basic research.
  • Drive vetting and coordination of partnership opportunities; coordinate with internal experts as needed.
  • Identify new opportunities with new or existing partner organizations.
  • Support identification and evaluation of key external partners based on corporate needs/gaps.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize value of larger, strategic partnerships.
  • Manage and track external partnership opportunities in collaboration with project management and external-facing colleagues.
  • Develop consistent channels for timely communication with internal/external partners and ensure continuity of messaging.
  • Collaborate with Global Trial Optimization to identify opportunities for innovation, synergy, and efficiency in partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Required: Ability to build consensus with leaders and colleagues to gain support for initiatives; proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Required: Strong existing relationships and reputation within the life science industry, particularly with academic medical centers and large health systems.
  • Required: Deep understanding of the drug development process; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a matrix organization.
  • Required: Strategic planning and tactical execution, with strong business and financial management acumen.
  • Required: Demonstrated resiliency, initiative to improve processes, and good judgment; excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
