Clinical Research and Development
Position Summary / Objective
- Primary medical accountability and oversight for multiple clinical trials
- Matrix management across internal/external network
- Manage Phase 1–Phase 3 studies with demonstrated decision-making
- Provide medical/scientific expertise to cross-functional BMS colleagues

Position Responsibilities
Medical Monitoring
- Contribute as key member of Study Delivery Team (SDT) and may join Clinical Development Team (CDT)
- Lead medical data review, including eligibility review
- Partner with Clinical Scientist (CS) for site interactions, medical questions, education, and safety management guidelines
- Assess key safety-related SAEs with Worldwide Patient Safety; oversee safety narratives
- Collaborate with CS on protocol development (e.g., inclusion/exclusion and safety considerations)
- Fulfill GCP and clinical compliance obligations; maintain required training

Clinical Development Expertise & Strategy
- Design/develop clinical plans and protocols with strategic focus to meet regulatory/disease strategy targets
- Provide oversight and medical accountability for a group of studies
- Lead benefit/risk analysis for protocols in a matrix environment
- Partner with CS to support study execution (e.g., site activation, enrollment status, deviation adjudication)
- Build relationships with principal investigators and identify thought leaders
- Maintain therapeutic area expertise via conferences and literature review
- Provide protocol-specific medical education

Health Authority Interactions & Publications
- Serve as medical point of expertise for Health Authority interactions and advisory boards
- Draft/authors clinical content for CSRs, regulatory reports, briefing books, and submission documents

Degree / Experience / Skills
- MD required (or x-US equivalent)
- 5+ years industry and/or clinical trials experience
- Clear scientific/clinical communication and presentation; leadership; subspecialty training desired
- Expertise in scientific method (including statistical design/analysis/interpretation)
- Expertise in drug development process and executing clinical plans/protocols

- Domestic and international travel may be required
