Position Summary / Objective
- Serves as a primary source of medical accountability and oversight for multiple clinical trials
- Matrix management responsibilities across the internal and external network
Position Responsibilities
- Lead medical monitoring, including medical data review and eligibility review
- Oversee site interactions for medical questions/education (including safety management guidelines)
- Assess key safety-related serious adverse events and oversee safety narratives
- Collaborate on protocol development; provide medical strategic oversight (e.g., inclusion/exclusion and safety considerations)
- Fulfill GCP/compliance obligations and maintain required training
- Design/develop clinical plans and protocols to meet regulatory and disease strategy targets
- Provide oversight and medical accountability for a group of studies
- Lead benefit/risk analysis for clinical development protocols in a matrix environment
- Partner on study execution (site activation, enrollment status, adjudication of protocol violations/deviations)
- Identify/build relationships with principal investigators and thought leaders
- Maintain disease-area expertise; attend conferences and review literature
- Provide ongoing medical education to study teams and investigators
- Serve as medical point of expertise for Health Authority interactions and advisory boards; author clinical content for CSRs/regulatory reports/briefing books/submission documents
Qualifications
- MD required (or x-US equivalent)
- 5+ years industry and/or clinical trials experience required
Key Competencies / Skills
- Clear scientific/clinical communication; lead presentations
- Subspecialty training in applicable therapeutic area desired
- Expertise in scientific method (statistical design/analysis/interpretation)
- Expertise in drug development process and executing clinical plans/protocols
- Strong leadership and teamwork
Travel
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
