Director – Category Manager EXM-Biologics (BIO)
Responsibilities
- Own assigned BIO categories/product technologies; serve as category SME.
- Develop and maintain category strategies aligned to business priorities, manufacturing needs, and supplier capabilities.
- Define and deliver 3–5 year savings and improvement roadmaps; support demand planning, capacity assessments, and sourcing roadmaps.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing to execute RFx, negotiations, and contracts; provide expertise on supplier selection, negotiation approaches, and award decisions.
- Define supplier management strategies; guide performance management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate category plans, sourcing activities, risks, and trade-offs with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive category value initiatives (cost optimization, sourcing improvements, supplier performance); track and report performance/value delivery.
- Use market/supplier intelligence to shape strategies and decisions; position Teva as a customer of choice.
- Support adoption of category tools/templates/best practices; improve consistency and discipline; coach team.
Qualifications
- Experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences or other regulated industries.
- Experience managing External Manufacturing (EXM), CMO/CDMO partnerships, or strategic supplier relationships.
- Experience leading sourcing initiatives, negotiations, supplier engagement, and cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of biologics manufacturing/CDMO networks/outsourced biologics supply chains (highly desirable).
Skills & Attributes
- Hands-on execution; strong organizational/prioritization; stakeholder communication/collaboration; analytical/commercial aptitude; comfort in evolving, lower-maturity procurement environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Typically 7+ years of related experience.
