Major Responsibilities
- Champion AbbVieβs AI Strategic Alliances by building and maintaining trusted relationships with external AI partners.
- Lead strategic reviews and alliance governance (e.g., Joint Steering Committees), assessing performance, surfacing risks, and driving resolutions.
- Engage and influence senior leadership across Global Alliances, AI Strategy, R&D, and Corporate Strategy to shape partnership direction and resolve issues.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on alliance health, opportunities, and risk mitigation.
- Support business development and due diligence, including diligence, integration planning, and early alliance design.
- Optimize and evolve partnerships by refining alliance terms, negotiating amendments, and improving operating models.
- Promote a strong partnering culture by advancing best practices and mentoring colleagues.
Qualifications
- 5β10 years in alliance management, external innovation, corporate ventures, or pharmaceutical development; exposure to AI-enabled technologies and partnerships; strong understanding of drug R&D across development stages (contractual governance familiarity preferred).
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific, computational, or legal discipline (e.g., CS, data science, computational biology, PharmD/PhD/MD/JD).
- AI/technical fluency to translate technical concepts into business context and manage complex collaborations.
- Strategic/business acumen, analytical/problem-solving skills, and clear communication with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills; ability to influence in a matrixed, global environment.
