Role Summary

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) leads the company’s financial planning processes, delivers high-quality insights, and partners with executives to shape business strategy. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, performance reporting, and long-range planning. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with the ability to influence decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning cycles.
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic objectives into financial outcomes and actionable plans.
  • Provide forward-looking insights, scenario modeling, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Own company-wide financial reporting, including monthly financial performance reports, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate business performance, investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and communicate findings clearly to senior leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit leaders, providing financial guidance and operational insights.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, HR, Sales, and Product teams to ensure alignment and financial accuracy.
  • Implement best-in-class FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodologies, reporting automation, and data quality.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles.
  • Required: Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Required: Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and financial planning tools; familiarity with ERP systems, particularly with SAP and SAC Cloud.
  • Required: Comfortable in implementing software tools to assist with financial reporting.
  • Required: Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex information for non-financial audiences.
  • Required: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Skills

  • Preferred: MBA or relevant advanced degree.
  • Preferred: Experience working in biotechnology/medical technology or life sciences publicly traded company.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of BI tools (SAP Cloud, Salesforce, Tableau, etc.).
  • Preferred: Strategic thinking and business acumen.
