Role Summary

The Finance Director, GTN Pricing Reserve & Reporting will oversee the GTN Reserve of $16 billion, support internal and external auditor deliverables, and drive GTN Kernel system enhancements within AbbVie's US Therapeutics Pricing organization. This role manages related sales reporting, reserve reconciliations, and system issues to ensure accurate Gross-to-Net accounting and strong internal controls. The position reports to the Director, GTN Pricing US Therapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the quarterly process of reviewing sales reserve reconciliations and analysis of ~$16 billion in rebate reserves, as well as contra-receivables accounts.
  • Lead or support the GTN reviews with leadership and external auditors.
  • Understand the market dynamics and PBM/340b impact including scrubbing.
  • Collaborate with Price Forecasting monthly; analyze variances and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Review journal entries and ensure timely Blackline approvals.
  • Lead internal and external quarterly and annual audits and reviews and sign off team’s SOX controls and IPE (Information Provided by Entity) shared with auditors.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a staff of four direct reports and two indirect reports.
  • Coordinate all team monthly tasks and responsibilities. Ensure timely guidance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., contracting, government, price forecasting) to ensure alignment and provide critical information to all management levels.
  • Assure adequate controls are designed, implemented, and monitored in the GTN space.
  • Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert on Gross-to-Net Balance Sheet topics; deliver training and guidance to business partners as needed.
  • Expert in Kernel system. Ensure full integration of Channel Summary and PBM information and lead system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting. Advanced degree a plus. Strong technical accounting and research skills are required, as well as solid understanding of AbbVie's accounting policies.
  • A minimum of twelve years of combined experience in volume/pricing forecasting and accounting is required. Previous pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
  • Operate independently and proactively, engaging with finance leadership to support organizational goals.
  • Must have strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, along with good interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of management.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint technical and content skills. Blackline and Kernel systems experience are required.
  • Ability to understand data management and reporting with a basic awareness of the possible technology platforms and solutions that can be leveraged.
  • Ability to synthesize, critically analyze, efficiently communicate large volumes of information, identify risks, make recommendations, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to present clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage workload to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.
  • Ability to make decisions without full data sets or with ambiguity and uncertainty.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (Advanced degree preferred).
