Role Summary

The Finance Director for Capital Planning and Analysis is a strategic finance leader responsible for directing the capital planning process, developing sophisticated analyses to support investment decisions, and providing insights to enable long-term strategic objectives. This role will serve as the Finance Global Process Owner for Capital Planning and act as the business partner to the Vice President, Capital Services & Solutions. The position collaborates cross-functionally to align capital allocation with organizational priorities, improve operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the organization's capital planning framework, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Forecast long-term capital requirements based on business growth, innovation strategy, market trends, and regulatory considerations.
  • Prepare, present, and defend capital plans to senior executive leadership and board of directors.
  • Guide the prioritization and selection of capital projects, working closely with business partners to evaluate feasibility, risk, and return on investment.
  • Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess capital investments, employing advanced financial modeling techniques.
  • Evaluate proposals for new capital expenditures and major projects, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansions.
  • Develop and maintain models that project future capital needs, funding sources, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Provide recommendations for optimal capital allocation, balancing strategic, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of capital investments and resource allocation.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on capital utilization, project progress, and financial outcomes to executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure transparent, accurate, and timely reporting of capital activities, adhering to internal controls and compliance standards.
  • Identify and assess financial, operational, and strategic risks related to capital investments and allocations; develop mitigation strategies including scenario planning and contingency analysis.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends that could impact capital planning and investment decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, business unit leaders, and key stakeholders; partner with Treasury, Corporate Development, Strategy, and Operations to ensure robust integration of capital planning within enterprise processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of finance professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance capital planning and analysis methodologies, processes, and tools; coach the adoption of advanced analytics, digital tools, and automation to improve forecasting, reporting, and decision-making; drive the development and implementation of best practices in capital allocation and financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred).
  • Required: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in corporate finance, capital planning, financial analysis, or related disciplines.
  • Required: Proven experience leading large-scale capital planning processes within complex organizations with expertise in financial modeling, investment analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Required: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Required: Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Required: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to executive audiences.
  • Required: Expertise in leveraging advanced analytics tools, business intelligence platforms, and ERP systems.
  • Required: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across functions and geographies.
