Area Leader of Field Reimbursement (Field-based)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs): strategic direction, coaching, performance feedback; conduct team meetings and facilitate best-practice sharing.
- Participate in recruitment, development, and retention; travel within the assigned region to support team members and engage with healthcare providers.
- Develop and manage budgets, travel, and team operations per company policies.
- Develop and execute regional field reimbursement strategies aligned with organizational goals and patient services objectives.
- Monitor and analyze regional/national trends in access, reimbursement, and patient support to address barriers.
- Serve as escalation point for patient access and reimbursement issues; coordinate with FRMs, market access, and patient support.
- Enhance patient experience via feedback and coaching; develop FRM engagement strategies that fit office workflows.
- Establish compliant connections with nephrology office personnel involved in prior authorizations and specialty medication access.
- Partner with external vendors and internal teams to ensure patient access/support services (e.g., SOPs, training, communication guides).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and HIPAA; establish and track FRM KPIs.
- Support approved external communications and collaborate with internal case management and specialty pharmacy teams.
Education and Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field; MBA/MPH/MHA preferred.
- 10+ years in market access, patient services, sales, or field reimbursement (pharma/biotech).
- 5+ years leading a specialty/rare disease field reimbursement or patient access team.
- Experience building/scaling case management, sales, access, or field reimbursement teams; specialty product launch experience.
- In-depth knowledge of payer landscapes and reimbursement processes.
- Strong regulatory/compliance knowledge incl. HIPAA; strategic planning and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication/leadership/collaboration; travel 50β70%.
Pay Range: $192,000β$288,000
