This position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and key account performance across our Oncology Key Account Leader (OKAL) team. This individual will report to the Sr. Director Key Accounts, Oncology and work in close partnership with the Key Account Marketer to ensure aligned execution. This role requires working with sales leadership, Oncology Key Account Management Team, training, marketing, analytics, market research, HR, legal, Compliance and other functions as required to continuously improve key account and operational performance.

A Typical Day Might Look Like This

  • Partner with Sr. Director Key Accounts, Oncology and brand teams to set operational strategy in alignment with brand strategy, coordinating with Key Account Marketer on integrated planning initiatives.
  • Develop and implement account management effectiveness processes and methodologies to enhance OKAL performance in KEY accounts while collaborating with Key Account Marketer on Key Account marketing strategies and execution.
  • Support & drive strategies that yield high-impact KEY account engagements. Partnering with Sr. Director of OKAL team on budget optimization and resource allocation that maximizes field effectiveness and aligns with organizational objectives and CBU priorities.
  • Ensure cross-functional communication and alignment with Key Account Marketer, Market Access (Reimbursement & GPO), Medical Affairs & other critical stakeholders on OKAL operational processes and capabilities.
  • Provide account management operational lens in internal meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on account management processes & governance, capability frameworks, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Analytics to establish and monitor account management effectiveness metrics and performance dashboards specific to operational KPIs, ensuring regular distribution to field leadership (in coordination with Key Account Marketer on marketing campaign metrics).
  • Work with Finance to ensure operational budgets for key account effectiveness tools, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives are properly aligned with strategic priorities and generate reports to monitor budget adherence.
  • Partner with Commercial Training on operational aspects of Plan of Action methodology, Train the Trainer programs, Career Development pathways, clinical & non-clinical training, and capability development curriculum.
  • Act as primary communication liaison between HQ teams (advanced analytics, HR, legal, compliance, market access, etc.) and OKAL field team on process improvements and capability development.
  • Lead implementation and optimization of sales effectiveness tools including Veeva CRM configurations, performance dashboards, and territory management systems.

This Position Might Be For You If

The Director, Field Force Effectiveness must possess expertise in sales operations, process optimization, and data-driven performance management. This role requires strong analytical capabilities to interpret operational metrics and translate insights into actionable improvement plans while demonstrating cross-functional coordination to execute sales effectiveness initiatives. Critical success factors include:

  • Confidence and ability to influence senior executives in support of key operational and capability initiatives.
  • Proven experience in sales operations, field force effectiveness, or commercial operations roles.
  • Ability to proactively and independently prioritize operational requests and business needs with clear role boundaries.
  • Strong facilitation skills for cross-functional collaboration (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Sales Analytics, HR, Compliance, Legal, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational/coordination capabilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and leverage internal networks to facilitate execution of operational business requirements.
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics platforms, sales process optimization, and performance management tools.

To be considered you must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical industry experience with field management and/or home office operations experience. Sales operations, process improvement, or CRM implementation experience preferred. Product launch operations experience a plus.

Travel Requirements:

25% travel including 10%-20% field time with OKALs for operational coaching, capability assessment, and performance optimization.

Salary Range (annually)

$180,400.00 - $300,700.00
