Responsibilities:
- Serve as GSK’s primary liaison to Democrats on relevant Congressional committees of jurisdiction (e.g., Senate Finance, House Ways & Means, and others as required).
- Develop and execute strategies to engage Members of Congress on legislation aligned with GSK’s interests.
- Build and maintain relationships with committee members and staff; monitor hearings, markups, and legislative actions; provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Represent GSK in external forums (trade associations such as PhRMA, industry coalitions, trade associations, advocacy groups).
- Collaborate to build consensus and amplify shared policy goals.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership; prepare briefing materials, talking points, and policy memos.
- Act as a representative for the GSK Employees Political Action Committee (PAC).
- Ensure advocacy activities comply with applicable lobbying laws and disclosure requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience (government agency, Capitol Hill, trade association, or corporate government affairs).
- Policy-making experience with at least one of: Senate Finance, House Ways & Means, Senate HELP, House Energy & Commerce.
- Experience co-developing/implementing external engagement strategies with internal business partners.
- Experience analyzing legislative policies and communicating recommended actions.
- Experience influencing engagement strategies with coalitions/trade associations/industry working groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (JD/MPP/MBA) preferred; strong understanding of legislative policy and commercial healthcare interests.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, Medicare/Medicaid, pharmaceutical pricing, trade, or corporate tax issues.
- Experience advocating before tax-writing and health committees.
Compensation/Benefits (US):
- Base salary range: $171,000–$285,000; annual bonus; eligibility for share-based long term incentive; health insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
