Role Summary

Director, Federal Accounts is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing an access and contracting strategy for federal government customers (e.g., VA, DoD, IHS, Federal Bureau of Prisons). This role negotiates contracts, manages formulary positioning, and builds long-term relationships with key federal stakeholders. The Director partners cross-functionally with Sales, Pricing, Medical, Market Access, Operations, and Legal/Compliance teams to deliver on revenue, budget, and patient access goals. Location: This role is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engagement strategy and account plans aligned to therapeutic area strategy to help ensure appropriate success within assigned, CMS, VA and DoD and other Federal accounts
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams: Market Access, HEOR/RWE, Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Pricing & Contracting, Legal/Compliance to ensure alignment and successful execution of payer strategies
  • Monitor and report, in collaboration with Government Affairs, on government policy proposals and determine potential financial and operational impact to Invivyd
  • Engage with CMS, DoD and VA leadership, formulary decision makers, and other population health stakeholders to ensure optimal therapeutic area access with speed and support appropriate product uptake and work to influence an appropriate Criteria for Use in the VA system
  • Responsible for developing long-term, multi-level relationships with each facility’s Pharmacy Directors, Clinical Pharmacists, Medical Chiefs, Neurologists and Primary Care Specialists
  • Understand and develop a plan for execution for each VA VISN and TriCare MTF in order to support the efforts of the local Sales Teams
  • Execute account management model and identify opportunities for best in class, enterprise level engagement to ensure appropriate therapeutic area access and growth
  • Serve as account engagement lead related to product access, pricing, contracting, and other relevant topics related to patient access to treatment
  • Facilitate compliant facility level engagement activities across field teams, including aligned territory account managers and HEOR/medical
  • Work closely with the Pricing department to implement price changes and monitor competitive intelligence to optimize access strategy and contracts, if necessary. Must understand the implications of any proposed therapeutic area strategies on the terms of government contracts
  • Prepare access strategy business cases and recommendations for review by various groups and individuals, including leadership, as appropriate
  • Utilize approved resources with appropriate customer stakeholders to educate on growth driving therapeutic areas and other relevant market access strategies
  • Conduct yourself with highest ethical standards and adhere to Invivyd Pharmaceuticals Code of Conduct
  • Comply with all relevant laws and regulations and Invivyd policies, and procedures, and ensure others around them do the same
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing to work with and visit all accounts
  • Participates in key conventions, as needed (i.e., Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), National Association of Managed Care Physicians (NAMCP), Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), Asembia, etc.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in account management for Federal accounts (VA/DoD), including deep knowledge of CMS, VA/DoD and existing relationships required
  • 8+ years of experience in government program account management required
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and leading without reporting authority
  • Documented access to both medical and pharmacy directors in government programs
  • Expertise in CMS, DoD and VA stakeholders, with knowledge of both access and demand levers with a working knowledge of federal pricing, distribution and pathway to acquisition dynamics
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a cross functional and collaborative environment, simultaneously handle multiple tasks and to effectively manage and lead without formal direction
  • Demonstrated executive level customer service and communication skills alongside understanding of clinical and economic trends driving decision making in Federal healthcare market
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Federal legal, regulatory, and compliance environment
  • Strong understanding of and ability to analyze account level economics and budgetary impact
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and adapt to changing markets or organizational priorities. Launch experience preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree or other advanced degree preferred.
