Role Summary

Director, External Manufacturing Aseptic (On-site based in IL, NJ or MA). Manage a team of Manufacturing Professionals assigned to Third Party Manufacture (TPM) contracts for Aseptic Manufacturing and DS Conjugation (ADCs) products, ensuring high-quality product is manufactured in compliance with regulations and delivered according to forecasts, schedules, and cost plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of AbbVie TPM Account Managers to negotiate Manufacturing Service Agreements and amendments, ensure compliance with terms, and establish effective planning and material procurement strategies to supply TPMs with required materials.
  • Ensure global logistics support all phases of the manufacturing agreement in line with Purchasing and Supplier quality expectations.
  • Maintain timely communication with TPM on product forecasts, manufacturing and delivery schedules.
  • Lead development of Financial Operating Plan, Updates, LRP, and standard processes; ensure financial goals are met.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance using appropriate metrics; align work processes and standards to deliver product per AbbVie quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal AbbVie partners to provide TPM with required quality systems and documentation to meet regulatory requirements; manage inspections, commitments, and deviations with timely product disposition.
  • Lead a performance improvement culture across TPMs; guide Account Managers to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with AbbVie stakeholder groups to resolve technical, quality, or supply issues.
  • Coach managers, set clear expectations, and model AbbVie performance and talent management practices.
  • Coordinate routine management reviews and provide ongoing communication on TPM performance, issues, actions, and improvements to stakeholders.
  • Represent Manufacturing with internal Brand Teams and manage staff development, hiring, performance, and talent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€šร„รดs Degree in a technical field required; advanced technical degree (Masterโ€šร„รดs or Doctorate) strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience including technical expertise and proven project management skills.
  • Progressively increased responsibility in Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.) as a supervisor, department manager, and leader of diverse teams.
  • Business acumen with functional leadership experience to ensure effectiveness in a complex operation.
