Position Summary:
The Director, Enterprise Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) establishes and leads the company’s enterprise-wide EH&S strategy, governance framework, and core programs across global operations. Provides strategic direction and technical guidance to site EH&S leaders, directly manages external consultants/resources, and partners with cross-functional leaders to drive consistency, risk management, and a culture of safety and accountability.

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute enterprise EH&S strategy; establish global EH&S governance (standards, policies, procedures, performance expectations).
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate enterprise EH&S risks; advise executive leadership.
- Lead EH&S governance committees; foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop enterprise programs/standards: chemical safety; industrial hygiene; laboratory safety; biosafety; bloodborne pathogens; ergonomics; hazard communication; SDS governance; product stewardship; CLP/global product labeling; incident reporting/investigation/CAPA; contractor/third-party EH&S; emergency preparedness; environmental compliance; EH&S audits/assurance.
- Monitor/interpret EH&S regulations; provide senior technical guidance; develop exposure assessment and risk-based controls.
- Provide functional leadership to sites; share best practices; direct external consultants; influence matrixed/global stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene/Environmental Science or related).
- 10+ years progressive EH&S experience (enterprise/regional/multi-site).
- Experience creating enterprise EH&S standards/governance/risk programs.
- Experience in regulated environments in biotech/life sciences/healthcare.
- Strong OSHA and environmental regulatory knowledge; familiarity with international EH&S.
- Matrix/influence leadership; change management; safety culture.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree; CIH/CSP/CHMM (or equivalent).
- Biotech/life sciences/pharma/medical device experience; expertise in chemical safety, industrial hygiene, laboratory safety, biosafety.
- Product stewardship/SDS/hazard communication incl. CLP; REACH; ISO 14001/45001.
- Enterprise audit/regulatory inspection and consultant management.

Working Conditions:
- Hybrid or on-site; 20–30% domestic/international travel; occasional work outside standard hours.

Physical Requirements:
- Conduct facility walkthroughs/inspections; lift/carry up to 25 lbs occasionally; prolonged computer work.
