Role Overview
Director in Data, Data Science & AI (DDSAI) to lead design, development, and deployment of Autonomous Learning and Closed-Loop Optimization capabilities across Therapeutics Discovery.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute TD Autonomous Learning strategy and roadmap for closed-loop discovery, adaptive experimentation, and continuous model improvement.
- Lead integration of lab instrumentation/assays/automation with predictive models and optimization algorithms.
- Develop and scale closed-loop and human-in-the-loop workflows (experiment execution, data capture/curation, model training/inference/uncertainty, recommendations).
- Drive adoption of DoE, Bayesian optimization, active learning, and reinforcement learning.
- Ensure production-grade, reproducible models via MLOps/model lifecycle management; champion FAIR data, interoperability, and responsible AI.
- Collaborate with TD (In Silico Discovery; Discovery Technologies & Molecular Pharmacology), IT, R&D Data Science, and partner externally (academia/industry).
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team; foster scientific rigor and continuous learning.

Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in Computational Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, AI/ML, Applied Math, Statistics, or related.
- 8–12+ years applying data science/AI in drug discovery or adjacent fields; demonstrated leadership.
- Proven ability to deploy ML/AI integrated with experimental/operational systems.
- Strong understanding of drug discovery workflows and experimental decision-making.
- Experience with MLOps, model governance, and scalable data platforms in regulated/high-stakes environments.
- Exceptional global communication.
