Director, Data Engineering Lead - Digital Insights

Role: Lead data engineering efforts within the Digital Insights team at a biopharma company, supporting drug substance, biologics, analytical, and process development across modalities. Objectives: develop scalable data pipelines, enforce data standards, and enable advanced analytics and AI applications to accelerate scientific discovery and digital transformation. Responsibilities: build and oversee a team of data engineers; design reliable, reusable data workflows; collaborate with scientists and digital teams to translate scientific workflows into data solutions; ensure data quality, lineage, and governance; support predictive analytics and AI use cases; align data architecture with enterprise standards. Requirements: Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in a relevant scientific or engineering field with 6-10+ years' industrial/pharmaceutical experience supporting laboratory or manufacturing data; expertise in data platforms, cloud data technologies (Databricks, SQL, Python), data modeling, metadata management, and AI data needs; demonstrated leadership in cross-functional technical teams.
