Role Summary

Director, Customer Insights - Market Access at Regeneron. Lead market research and customer insights to inform Market Access strategy, partnering with stakeholders to understand payer/provider/policy dynamics and translate insights into actions that enhance market access and drive growth across Regeneron brands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead market research plans and individual projects that inform business decisions for Regeneron’s Market Access team
  • Develop innovative Customer Insights plans aligned with strategic imperatives for Market Access and Commercial Business Units, translating insights gaps into key business questions and informing the optimal research approach
  • Proactively recommend studies that inform critical market access decision-points and address opportunities and challenges
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across the Market Access team, Regeneron CBUs and CSI&A; balance project rigor, timelines and influence decisions
  • Manage market access research suppliers to design, scope, execute and analyze research results and develop business implications
  • Partner with Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs and other stakeholders to shape value propositions and go-to-market approaches for decision makers
  • Collaborate with Market Access team, CBUs and CSI&A to influence data capabilities and stay informed on market access landscape, trends and competitive outlook
  • Work with Advanced Analytics to measure performance of market access initiatives via secondary data sources; address questions from senior leadership
  • Demonstrate proficiency and drive continuous improvement in market access primary research designs and analysis; develop customized innovative research solutions
  • Manage all market access primary research in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices
  • Recommend evidence-driven business-building ideas leveraging customer and market insights
  • Support pricing and contracting strategies, patient reimbursement journeys, and patient support programs to ensure access and improve outcomes
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research with payers, providers, and policy stakeholders to understand access dynamics; integrate payer insights with patient/HCP perspectives
  • Provide forward-looking assessments of policy changes, competitive strategies and value-based care models; identify drivers of customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Collaborate to incorporate customer insights into pricing strategies, assess competitive pricing models and support contracting frameworks
  • Map end-to-end patient reimbursement journey to identify pain points and opportunities; collaborate with payers/providers/patient groups to streamline processes
  • Establish and share outcomes from plans that measure performance against critical success factors
  • Synthesize insights from multiple sources to inform strategic choices; present findings to business teams and senior management
  • Consolidate market access data into actionable insights that identify opportunities/strategies
  • Create presentations that communicate complex insights clearly and actionably

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required
  • 12+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience (or 10+ years with MBA/MS) in roles of increasing accountability; prior experience with market access primary research and biologic medicines is required
  • Demonstrated success in using market research to inform and influence important business decisions
  • 12+ years (or 10+ years for MBA/MS) of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience in Commercial roles with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience in survey design, data analysis (including secondary data), managing suppliers, presenting results, and recommending actions supported by research
  • Experience in cross-functional communication and consensus building
  • Strong technical understanding of marketing research methodologies and expertise across multiple complex tools
  • Strong understanding of data sources and nomenclatures in product development
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to pharmaceutical commercialization
  • Demonstrated flexibility, leadership, influence and emotional intelligence across stakeholders
  • Experience managing numerous projects concurrently against tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience influencing and driving decision making
  • Expertise in data visualization and data storytelling of market research findings
