Main Responsibilities
- Define and own the comprehensive data strategy for Payer Data across the enterprise, establishing a clear vision for how Payer data is managed, governed, and leveraged.
- Align Payer data assets with Business Units and Therapeutic Areas to ensure consistency and relevance across Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial, Compliance, and Legal.
- Ensure Payer data products are discoverable, trustworthy, and readily usable by analytics, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Define and enforce business rules, data definitions, and quality standards for Payer data at enterprise and Therapeutic Area levels.
- Collaborate across Market Access and GTMC functions to ensure accurate and consistent utilization of Payer data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies in partnership with Audit, Legal, and Compliance.
- Partner with Market Access and Commercial stakeholders to prioritize data enhancements and ensure ongoing availability, usability, and governance alignment.
- Monitor and continuously improve data quality, completeness, and timeliness.
- Lead stewardship: issue identification/resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure Payer data products are documented with metadata, data lineage, and usage guidelines.
- Lead and manage teams; provide direction, mentorship, and professional development.
- Co-lead cross-functional initiatives where Payer and Customer data are foundational.
Education & Qualifications
- BS in Life Sciences, Data Science, Business, or related field (required).
- MS (preferred).
- 7+ years in data management roles within life sciences commercial operations (required).
- Deep expertise in Payer data and Plan/Payer/PBM hierarchies; hands-on use of industry data sources (e.g., IQVIA, MMIT).
- Strong understanding of Payer data utilization in Market Access and Commercial processes.
- Experience representing Payer data owner function across Market Access and Commercial.
- Familiarity with access pull-through strategies, coverage forecasting, and formulary placement.
- Experience establishing a Payer Master Data Management (MDM) framework.
- Broad knowledge of life sciences commercial data (Rx, Sales, Product, APLD, etc.).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and collaborate with Digital and Analytics teams.
