Director, Core Data Management

Role: Director of Core Data Management at Novartis, leading enterprise data standards, governance, and operational excellence to enable AI-ready, trusted datasets supporting drug development and commercial activities. Responsibilities: define and promote data standards across the organization, establish governed data products, lead and develop a team of Associate Directors, partner with data engineering and business units for onboarding and scaling data assets, oversee post-launch data operations, monitor service levels, and drive continuous improvement in data governance processes. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (advanced preferred), 15+ years in data management or architecture within regulated environments, 3+ years leading teams, experience with enterprise data models or CDM, proficiency in data standards (ODCS, DCAT, OWL/RDF), familiarity with modern data catalog platforms, and knowledge of pharma commercial data sources (IQVIA, Veeva) is highly desirable. High-value specifics include focus on enterprise data governance in a pharmaceutical context, supporting drug development and commercial data initiatives, with a leadership scope across cross-functional stakeholders. Work setup: primarily remote, based in East Hanover, NJ; some travel and onsite meetings expected.
