Director, Computational HitGen / LeadGen Team Lead

Role: Lead strategic development and execution of AI-native drug discovery initiatives within AbbVie's small molecule portfolio, reporting to the Head of Computational Drug Discovery. Responsibilities: oversee the HitGen/LeadGen team; develop advanced computational methods for predicting binding affinities and pharmacological properties; collaborate with R&D teams to identify and address computational gaps; influence program-level decision-making by guiding model benchmarking and approach selection; promote scientific leadership through internal and external publications and presentations. Requirements: PhD in a science-related field with 10+ years of experience in drug discovery; extensive expertise in computational drug design, AI, and property prediction; proven leadership in guiding multidisciplinary teams; excellent communication and strategic thinking skills. High-Value: focus on small molecules, AI-driven discovery, early-stage (preclinical) programs, cross-disciplinary collaboration with R&D and Information Research, and scientific visibility through publications.
