Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of US and Above Market Compliance and Ethics Organization, partner with senior leaders across Legal, Commercial, Medical, R&D, Global Drug Development, Regulatory, IT, Audit, Finance and HR to build and integrate one global compliance program into US and Worldwide Commercialization Organizations. Combine risk mitigation (education and monitoring) with data analytics on executional risk to enable risk-based business decisions. Operationalize decisions through simple, clear, principle-based policies; educate the business on those policies using adult-learning techniques; and monitor adherence via live monitoring, transactional monitoring, and data analytics to remediate deviations by identifying root causes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct risk assessments using data analytics, benchmarking, and enforcement trend review.
- Advise business leaders on executional risk for new initiatives; counsel on educational initiatives, policies, and monitoring capabilities.
- Analyze data on analogous activities to inform risk decisions.
- Draft simple, easy-to-understand, principle-based policies.
- Develop and provide training using adult-learning principles (gaming, microlearning, experiential learning).
- Establish a Compliance Champions network to integrate compliance messaging into business training cycles.
- Determine and allocate training and culture initiative budget for therapeutic areas.
- Identify stakeholders and cross-functional resources to drive buy-in for training and cultural initiatives.
- Conduct live and transactional monitoring; review data for outliers and implement preventive education/additional monitoring.
- Perform other compliance-related activities as directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree; advanced degree (MBA/CPA/JD) appreciated.
- 12β15 years pharmaceutical/healthcare compliance or legal experience, including 5+ years counseling clients.
- Working knowledge of US pharma compliance guidelines/regulations (AKS, FCA, FDCA, HIPAA, FCPA) and PhRMA Code principles.
- Familiarity with commercial sales/marketing, medical affairs, and market access operations.
- Ability to communicate with senior executives; influence business decisions; use data to communicate risk and mitigation effectiveness.
- Entrepreneurial, ownership mindset; proven policy drafting experience.
- Adult-learning training experience.
- Live monitoring experience (speaker programs/advisory boards) and transactional monitoring of engagements with healthcare providers.
