Position Summary
The Director of Competitive Intelligence (CI) is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing competitive and market intelligence to support business decisions across therapeutic areas and product lifecycles.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead CI plans across key therapeutic areas to support internal product launches, lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization.
- Monitor, evaluate, and synthesize competitive product and market developments (e.g., clinical trials, regulatory decisions, M&A activity, product launches, pricing/reimbursement, KOL sentiment).
- Produce actionable CI insights and deliverables (landscape assessments, competitor profiles, SWOT analyses, strategic implications).
- Lead and/or manage third-party vendors for primary intelligence and synthesize secondary sources (e.g., AlphaSense, EvaluatePharma, GlobalData, PubMed).
- Plan, execute, and report on intelligence gathering at major medical and scientific conferences.
- Partner with market research, brand marketing, and new product teams for strategic planning (competitor simulations and war games).
- Partner cross-functionally (Commercial, Medical, Market Access, R&D, Regulatory, Business Development, Investor Relations) and present findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, business administration, or related field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
- ~10 yearsโ€™ experience in competitive intelligence, market research, strategic analysis, or related pharma/biotech functions.
- In-depth knowledge of drug development, commercialization, and regulatory pathways.
- Strong analytical/strategic thinking; excellent written/verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficient with tools such as EvaluatePharma, Cortellis, Trialtrove, GlobalData, AlphaSense; experience managing vendors/budgets; travel occasionally.

Salary Range
$192,000โ€”$240,100 USD
