Director, Commercial Supply Chain

Reporting to the Vice President of External Manufacturing & Supply Chain, the Director of Commercial Supply Chain will be responsible for orchestrating the successful launch and uninterrupted supply of Viridian's products to global markets.

This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.

Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To)

  • Design and implement a comprehensive end-to-end supply chain planning framework that aligns demand, supply, inventory, and production planning across global operations
  • Work with key stakeholders to manage a Global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Lead the development of Commercial Labeling and Packaging, including artwork generation and product security features
  • Ensure accuracy of accruals, invoices, purchase orders and budget forecasting by serving as the functional liaison with the appropriate FP&A Business Partner
  • Oversee the development of accurate demand forecasts and ensure supply plans are optimized to meet established inventory levels, cost targets, and relevant operational goals
  • Negotiate complex supply agreements, including pricing structures, service level agreements (SLAs), risk-sharing mechanisms, and performance incentives; ensure contracts are aligned with corporate policies and compliance standards
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and governance processes to ensure adherence to contractual supply obligations and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and guidance documents relevant to areas of responsibility
  • Drive the adoption and optimization of planning systems (ERP platforms) and digital tools to enhance visibility, agility, and responsiveness across the supply chain
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure a successful launch and subsequent uninterrupted commercial supply
  • Analyze launch performance and incorporate learnings into future product launches
  • 10-15 years of experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and cGMP Commercial Manufacturing Operations
  • Bachelors in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline required
  • Commercial launch experience required
  • Combination Product (drug-device) experience desirable
  • Experience partnering with CMOs in a commercial manufacturing environment required
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams with internal and external team membership
  • Understands and listens to team needs while fostering collaborative and productive team environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
