Role Summary

Director, Global Compensation, to join our Total Rewards and HR Innovation and Analytics team and make a significant impact in a fast-growing business. Provide Global Compensation and sales incentive design expertise to support global operations. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Compensation, this role will be a strategic compensation partner to the Global Commercial team and participate in the design, development, administration, and communication of global compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, recommend, and execute innovative data driven compensation programs by evaluating market practices, trends, regulatory requirements, analyzing costs, and ensuring Alnylam’s competitive advantage in total rewards.
  • Provide strategic, consultative thought leadership to the business and HR Business Partners on all compensation matters, including salary management, sales incentive design, total rewards philosophy, programs, policies, job architecture, and creative support of strategic objectives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the company to build strong relationships and provide leadership and advice on compensation and sales incentive plan strategies and competitive trends.
  • Work with the Commercial Operations team to review sales incentive compensation plans and programs, including measurement components, quotas, award programs, and contests, to ensure all incentive plans are motivational, compliant, and equitable.
  • Support the enhancement and evolution of compensation programs aligned with the company’s current lifecycle stage and educate employees on programs across global locations.
  • Develop and present analytics and summaries for discussion and approval reviews.
  • Manage Global Compensation projects and teams from conception to implementation, including developing project plans, timelines, ensuring accuracy, and appropriate change management activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to support programs.

Qualifications

  • Seasoned strategic and operational compensation professional and leader with at least 10 years’ of relevant experience, with the ability to critically assess and evolve existing compensation and sales incentive plans, programs, policies, and processes for a hyper-growth biopharmaceutical company.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise, challenge, and influence colleagues and build relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Successful track record and deep understanding of project management, benchmarking, and designing incentive plans, including sales incentive plans.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to evaluate complex data and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to influence and educate senior leadership.
  • A team player able to collaborate with partners and stakeholders across HR and outside HR.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
