Director, Commercial Effectiveness β€” Role Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Commercial Effectiveness strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned to enterprise objectives.
- Establish sub-functional goals, KPIs, and performance standards for measurable field execution excellence.
- Translate brand, sales, and market access strategies into scalable operational frameworks and field execution models.
- Resolve complex business issues impacting field performance, customer engagement, and productivity.
- Lead launch readiness planning (KPI design, reporting architecture, and post-launch optimization strategy).
- Benchmark best practices and introduce innovative commercial models, technologies, and processes.
- Ensure field metrics/reporting align with compliance, privacy, and data governance standards.
- Oversee development/governance of field dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools.
- Partner with Commercial Analytics to integrate enterprise analytics with field-facing insights.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with Sales Leadership; identify risks/opportunities and drive action planning.
- Identify execution gaps and implement data-driven optimization across area/region/zone.
- Champion advanced analytics and omnichannel integration into field tools.
- Own and evolve Field Playbooks (roles, responsibilities, execution standards, operational expectations).
- Evaluate/select/implement commercial technologies (CRM enhancements, targeting tools, AI-enabled capabilities).
- Oversee customer targeting optimization and high-impact tactical initiatives.
- Conduct structured field engagements (e.g., ride-alongs) to improve execution.
- Drive continuous process improvement to enhance productivity, scalability, and customer engagement.
- Liaise between Commercial leadership and field teams to ensure alignment and feedback integration.
- Partner with Franchise GMs/VPs to ensure strategy pull-through across field organizations.
- Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, IT, and L&D to ensure cohesive execution.
- Influence senior leaders on policy/process/execution decisions impacting field performance.
- Represent Commercial Effectiveness in leadership forums and major planning initiatives.
- Lead, develop, and coach the team; foster accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Set team priorities, performance expectations, and development plans; oversee workforce planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Build organizational capability for future portfolio growth and increasing commercial complexity.

Requirements / Qualifications
- BS/BA in Business or related field + 12+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical sales, sales operations, training, managed care, or other operational excellence role (equivalent experience acceptable) OR
- Master’s degree in Business or related field + 10+ years of similar experience plus prior managerial/functional management experience.
- Recognized internal thought leader with strong commercial/business expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and translate into operational execution.
- Advanced analytical thinking; strong influencing capability with senior cross-functional leaders.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Exemplifies passion, integrity, collaboration, innovation, and tenacity.
- In-depth understanding of how the discipline integrates within the department and impacts other departments and business objectives.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to hire/coach/develop key talent.
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguity and make effective decisions.

Compensation (as stated)
- Annual base salary range: $186,500.00–$254,000.00.
