Director, Commercial Data Science & AI/ML — Vaccines

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced predictive models and AI/ML solutions supporting commercial decisions across the Vaccines portfolio (launch readiness, immunization coverage gap identification, promotional response modeling, and program performance analytics).
- Partner with Commercial, Market Access, Public Health, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to translate business/public health questions into analytical plans improving vaccination rates, revenue, and patient outcomes.
- Build, validate, and operationalize end-to-end ML workflows (data ingestion, feature engineering, deployment, monitoring, performance tracking) using claims, immunization registries (IIS), EMR, specialty pharmacy, and public health surveillance data.
- Apply AI/ML to vaccines challenges (demand forecasting, inventory optimization, geographic coverage gaps, HCP/pharmacist targeting/segmentation, pediatric schedule adherence, and payer/public health dynamics).
- Support adult immunization priorities (identify under-vaccinated adults, optimize campaigns, model partnership impact, support reimbursement strategy).
- Lead vaccines market access analytics (payer mix, formulary/ACIP impact, government contract & VFC analytics, net price optimization).
- Lead and mentor data scientists/analysts; set technical standards and responsible/reproducible AI practices.
- Communicate insights to senior commercial and public health leaders.
- Champion modern AI/ML tools/GenAI and scalable data infrastructure; collaborate on data quality, governance, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, FDA promotional guidelines).

Qualifications (Basic):
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science/CS/Statistics/Applied Math/Epidemiology or related.
- 10+ years applied data science/ML/statistical modeling; 3+ years in pharma/biotech commercial (preferably vaccines/immunology).
- Vaccines/commercial pharma data experience (e.g., IQVIA, Optum, Symphony Health, IIS/registries).
- Strong Python or R; ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost) and AI coding tools.
- Model deployment and end-to-end ML pipelines using AWS/Azure/GCP or containers.
- Cross-functional leadership of commercial analytics; strong written/verbal communication.

Qualifications (Preferred):
- PhD; deep vaccines therapeutic expertise (adult + pediatric/ACIP).
- Experience with vaccination coverage dynamics, NLP/LLMs, MLOps, compliance frameworks, and government programs (VFC, 317).
