Director (Principal Scientist) β Clinical Research (Metabolism; obesity and obesity-related disorders)
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct clinical research activities for new or marketed medicines across all phases, with focus on late-stage studies (study design, initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication).
- Plan clinical trials (design, operational plans, settings) based on clinical development strategies.
- Monitor and manage ongoing or new clinical trials for investigational or marketed drugs.
- Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety/efficacy decisions, new drug applications, clinical study reports, and publication.
- Participate in internal and joint internal/external research project teams for development of new compounds and further study of marketed compounds.
- Support business development assessments of external opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
- Required: Industry or faculty/academia experience; 3+ years clinical medicine experience; 1+ year industry drug development or biomedical research in academia; demonstrated scientific scholarship; proven clinical medicine track record and biomedical research background; strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal/written communication and presentation.
- Preferred: Board Certified or Eligible in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Cardiology, Nephrology, or related discipline; prior specific clinical research experience and prior publication.
Preferred Skills/Other: Travel ~20% to manage clinical research projects.
