Role Summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking an imaginative physician drug developer to work across diseases within the neurology therapeutic area and provide clinical leadership in developing RNAi therapeutics in the expanding CNS portfolio. The primary role will be as a clinical study lead within the Alzheimerโ€™s portfolio, driving clinical development strategies and operational excellence across trials in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert for the relevant disease area(s)
  • Provide a strategic, clear leadership voice for the clinical program
  • Develop creative but realistic approaches to drug development and lead clinical efforts toward global regulatory approvals
  • Oversee trial conduct and safety
  • Collaborate with Preclinical, Regulatory Affairs and Medical Affairs to ensure integrated product development plans
  • Ensure accountability for all relevant timelines and deliverables
  • Supervise major written deliverables (regulatory submissions, articles, abstracts) and presentation materials
  • Own final review and sign-off of controlled documents including protocols, investigator brochures, and informed consent forms
  • Influence internal and external audiences in a high-impact, visible manner

Qualifications

  • MD with strong research background or MD PhD with clinical and/or research training evidenced by research support and peer-reviewed publications
  • Board Certification (or equivalent) or specialist training in neurology is desirable
  • 3+ years industry experience or equivalent clinical academic research experience
  • Sound scientific and clinical judgment
  • Familiarity with concepts of clinical research and trials, biostatistics, and regulatory guidelines and practices
  • Effective written and oral communication of complex medical concepts
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and mature judgment
  • Outstanding leadership and collaboration skills in a matrix environment
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial biotech setting and aligned with Alnylamโ€™s culture of science, passion, and urgency
