Job Description
Communicates/presents key Clinical Pharmacology information/strategy to senior/executive management, regulatory agencies, and external peers. Supports strategic planning for drug development activities and projects. Interprets scientific data and explains implications to management. Serves as liaison across departments/divisions for study/project needs. May lead Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics teams and is accountable for team performance.

Responsibilities
- Lead Clinical Pharmacology/PK/PD activities and multiple major projects; advise R&D senior management on action plans aligned with drug development objectives.
- Identify issues, perform risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide portfolio timelines; negotiate outcomes/deliverables across functions under time/cost/quality constraints.
- Provide scientific/strategic consultation to R&D and Regulatory leadership.
- Evaluate technical/scientific aspects of AbbVie projects; review clinical protocols/reports for regulatory filings; lead regulatory document writing/submission and responses to agency comments.
- Conduct due diligence assessments and represent Clinical Pharmacology on business development teams.
- Develop process improvement initiatives; contribute to departmental goals; influence strategic PK/PD decisions.
- Maintain up-to-date PK/PD modeling, simulation, and analysis knowledge; may manage/mentor personnel.

Qualifications
- PhD (7+ years) or PharmD (9+ years) or MS (15+ years) or BS (17+ years) in a relevant field (PK, PBPK, PK-PD, pharmacometrics/systems pharmacology, drug metabolism/transporters).
- Excellent interpersonal skills; knowledge across therapeutic/functional areas and development phases.
- Demonstrated leadership in PK/PD, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacometric activities across projects; scientific/project leadership and project management skills.
- Key leadership competencies: cross-functional business understanding, resilience, respectful/courageous actions, creative idea generation, alignment-building, open communication, constructive conflict management.
