Director, Clinical Operations – Oncology
Responsibilities:
- Lead worldwide execution of Phase I-IV oncology clinical trials; ensure compliance with SOPs, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Own operational strategy, financial oversight, and successful execution of assigned Clinical Development Plans; oversee complex/multiple studies or programs.
- Provide Clinical Operations representation on GDTs/CSTs; influence development plan direction/outcomes.
- Lead Oncology program delivery: optimize processes, streamline timelines, manage deliverables, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Identify and manage emerging risks/issues/opportunities; apply end-to-end understanding (design, patient journey, vendor inputs, data/statistics) to protect endpoint quality.
- Provide CRO oversight (set expectations, manage performance, ensure on-time/on-budget/high-quality delivery).
- Build cross-functional collaboration; drive continuous improvement, efficiencies, and operational excellence.
- Lead and develop direct/indirect reports; hire, coach, and retain diverse talent.
- Ensure compliance with policies/regulatory requirements; may develop SOPs/procedures and serve on governance/partnership/due diligence efforts.
Requirements:
- BA/BS/RN with 12+ years relevant life sciences experience, or MA/MS/PharmD/PhD with 10+ years.
- Oncology clinical trials/operations experience in company-sponsored trials.
- Multiple years leading high-complexity programs/cross-functional clinical operations initiatives (strategic planning, governance).
- RFP development and CRO/vendor selection/management experience.
- Line management experience; proven ability enabling on-time/on-budget/high-quality portfolio delivery.
- Extensive registration-intent oncology trial experience and oncology endpoint knowledge.
- Knowledge of FDA/EMA, ICH, and GCP; strong financial acumen.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, coaching, change leadership, and ability to travel as needed.
Comp/Benefits:
- Salary range: $210,375.00–$272,250.00. May include discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
