Director, Clinical & Medical Strategic Planning & Management

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the formulation of clinical development and medical evidence generation plans
- Ensure strategic alignment with Ascendis organization goals and priorities
- Provide a comprehensive view of the endocrine portfolio (pipeline and life cycle management)
- Create and maintain visible, contemporary roadmaps
- Balance dependencies and manage competing resource demands
- Continuously evaluate performance across portfolio and programs
- Facilitate plan execution to generate impactful evidence
- Maintain clarity of priorities (e.g., endpoint selection) for ERDMS teams
- Support cross-functionally discussed, informed decision-making
- Enable effective team collaboration (readiness and productive working)
- Promote organized ways of working that allow subject matter experts to think and strategize
- Promote communication and information-sharing
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration
- Schedule discussions for interpreting data and plan data presentation flow
- Create internal tools/visuals for clinical & medical messages/narratives
- Cultivate proactivity, accountability, and strong foundations for short- and long-term success

Requirements
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement (e.g., Innovation & Research, Non-Clinical & Bioanalysis, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance, Investor Relations, Business/Commercial, Compliance)
- Lead through influence; excellent judgement; scientific thinking
- Advanced degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, or MS)
- Significant experience in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to travel ~10–15% (domestic and international)
