Director, Clinical Data Management (San Diego, CA β€’ minimum 2 days/week onsite hybrid)

Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership for direction, design, planning, execution, collection, handling of all clinical data to highest quality standards.
- Oversee CDM vendor/technology evaluation, qualification, selection, budgeting, contract negotiations, training, and oversight from start-up through close-out and final reporting.
- Build effective DM vendor relationships, including RFP development, contract negotiation, and selection of DM and/or technology.
- Create/review data management and database documentation (e.g., data management plans, CRF completion guidelines, coding guidelines, annotated CRFs, edit checks).
- Ensure clinical databases and external data files are standard, accurate, complete, and consistent for analysis/regulatory submission.
- Coordinate review of clinical data, analysis tables/listings/figures, and patient profiles for consistency/accuracy.
- Ensure data quality for DB lock, completeness for regulatory submission/analysis, and maintenance of study-specific files.
- Manage DM timelines and deliverable milestones; implement documentation and archival standards.
- Provide training on CRF completion guidelines and EDC systems to investigators and internal/external teams.
- Provide oversight and direction to direct/indirect reports (recruiting, coaching, performance management, career development).

Qualifications/Required:
- BS in Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics.
- 12+ years related experience; 5+ years DM in pharma/biotech; 5+ years people management.
- Prior responsibility for full clinical data management life cycle.
- Working knowledge of ICH, FDA, GCP.

Skills:
- CDISC, STDM, MedDRA; data management technology/software/computer systems.
- Clinical trial/data management and biometrics/quality/system applications knowledge.
- Proficiency with Word/PowerPoint/Excel and other tools; strong communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Benefits/Pay:
- Base salary range: $195,000–$240,000.
