Director, Channel Distribution Strategy
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert on evolving supply chain and distribution-related laws, channel models, and strategic channel partner business models and capabilities across the US and Canada.
- Maintain deep understanding of Hospital, Specialty & Retail pharmacy channels to ensure industry-leading patient support in specialty channels.
- Lead a team designing scalable, innovative distribution strategies to maximize patient access and achieve corporate goals while considering financial impact, patient/customer experience, and strategic alliances.
- Support recommendations with analytics considering channel economics, active/pending policy (e.g., serialization, importation, state and federal pricing), reimbursement, setting of care, financial implications, and patient access dynamics.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders; deliver recommendations to Senior Leadership and internal governing bodies/strategic teams.
- Partner with Trade team and functional business partners to understand distribution capabilities, market expertise, and differentiation.
- Partner with pipeline/inline strategy and Trade to generate insights for commercialization planning (forecasting, gross-to-net, operational build).
- Identify and define evolution of distribution programs for new launches, risk mitigation, market/competitive changes, portfolio needs, and regulatory/legislative updates.
Knowledge and Skills
- Expert knowledge of drug distribution channels (cell and gene therapy, specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy, retail).
- Previous strategic leadership experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare.
- Proven track record meeting/exceeding objectives; ability to develop/lead strategic initiatives (internal and with external consultants).
- Relevant experience with distribution networks, new product launches, trade processes, and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Demonstrated understanding of US commercial and government healthcare/reimbursement environment.
- Excellent communication; ability to navigate cross-functional, highly matrixed teams; strong analytics.
Education and Experience
- Bachelorโs degree (Masterโs preferred).
- 10+ years in commercial market access, trade, and distribution.
- Channel distribution experience with cell and gene therapy, rare disease, and small molecule.
Location/Travel
- HQ or Hybrid (3 days/week in HQ).
- Travel up to 20%.
