Role Summary
Director β Business Partner for Media, MarTech & Content Production, reporting directly to the Senior Director for Marketing & Media Procurement. Lead category and sourcing teams across Content Production, MarTech, and Media (approximately $900M). Define partnership strategies, oversee business planning and governance, and unlock innovation and value realization across US and Global Marketing, including Global Customer Capabilities. Foster collaboration, enable enterprise-wide initiatives, and champion change to position Global Procurement as a strategic value driver within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader within the Commercialization organization, offering expert insights into market trends, supplier capabilities, and best practices for go-to-market strategies.
- Forge strategic, high-impact partnerships with key partners across Global and US Marketing, including Global Customer Capabilities ensuring alignment between business priorities and Media, MarTech & Content Production Category strategies.
- Leverage market intelligence to craft business strategies that seamlessly connect with category objectives.
- People leadership experience across global category & sourcing teams
- Work strategically with the supply base to drive supplier-enabled innovation that supports and enhances business partner objectives.
- Provide Marketing Procurement expertise to catalyze business development, operational innovation, and other high-value initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to generate, capture, and recognize value across the Marketing pipeline. Influence budgetary decisions and profit-and-loss outcomes to enhance impact.
- Promote the adoption of Procurement-led and business-aligned critical initiatives, ensuring integration across stakeholders, end users, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Bridge the gap between procurement performance and business objectives by driving the implementation of relevant initiatives developed by Category Leads.
Qualifications
- Required: Doctorate degree and 4 years of business partnering, marketing, and/or related experience
- Required: Masterβs degree and 8 years of business partnering, marketing, and/or related experience
- Required: Bachelorβs degree and 10 years of business partnering, marketing, and/or related experience
- Required: At least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
- Preferred: Advanced degree or significant professional experience in Marketing, Media, or Agency Management.
- Preferred: An analytical approach focused on performance metrics and value management, encompassing the generation, realization, and recognition of pipeline value.
- Preferred: Experience in Commercialization Category Management, including MarTech, Data, Analytics, and Customer Engagement.
- Preferred: Expertise in Commercialization Contracting and/or Sourcing Excellence.
- Preferred: Experience leading Marketing Procurement categories & teams, from shaping strategies to successful execution
- Preferred: Marketing & Media Procurement Category experience in Biotech or Pharma
- Preferred: Track record of collaborating with senior-level Marketing stakeholders as a trusted business partner.
- Preferred: Strong leadership and influence within matrixed teams, with the ability to unify and guide cross-functional efforts.
- Preferred: Demonstrated expertise in spearheading cross-functional initiatives, making strategic category trade-offs, and representing major vertical categories at top-level decision-making forums.
- Preferred: Exceptional change management skills, enabling the adoption of complex Procurement and business strategies across ecosystems.
- Preferred: Competence in translating business priorities into actionable category strategies.
- Preferred: Deep understanding of driving supplier-enabled innovation into commercial ecosystems.
- Preferred: Outstanding communication and partner engagement abilities.
