The Director will be primarily responsible for the business, operational, and compliance aspects of Virology drug discovery, development, and marketed products at Gilead. Supports Virology drug development, working collaboratively on development plans, regulatory interactions, and commercial evaluation of a Gilead Virology compound in one or more indications.

Requirements
- Provide statistical leadership to Virology clinical trials: develop trial design options and decision support.
- Act as statistical lead for a specific Virology molecule/indication in Health Authority interactions; maintain an accountability thread to TA head.
- Collaborate with Statistical Programming, Biostatistics, Clinical Research, Clinical Data Management, Global Drug Safety, Regulatory, and Project Management to meet analysis/reporting deliverables and timelines.
- Apply knowledge of regulatory statistical requirements to meet regulatory, scientific, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with investigators, outside experts, and internal colleagues to present/publish results and statistical analyses.
- Negotiate project timelines under constraints; support long-term staffing plans; provide career development; participate in strategic risk assessment.
- Oversee and contribute to completion of technical/operational statistical activities for multiple development programs through internal/external resourcing.
- Provide leadership for departmental strategic initiatives and supervise personnel.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD with 8+ years industry experience OR Master’s with 10+ OR Bachelor’s with 14+.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAS and R experience; biomedical statistical analysis.
- Drug development experience, including design/analysis of Phase 1-3 trials and active participation in NDA/BLA filing via label negotiation.
- Strong collaboration, holistic cross-functional problem-solving, proactive solution development.
