General Summary:
- Independently perform highly scientific statistical functions supporting the Global Medicines Development and Affairs (GMDA) area on new and complex issues.
- Complete work in a resourceful, self-sufficient manner; create alternative approaches to achieve desired results.
- Provide independent strategic and technical contributions.
- Serve as a people manager with financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct one or more projects including multiple clinical trials, observational studies, or RWD investigations; present to PPRC or other internal senior review boards.
- Manage a team of direct reports (performance, development); mentor and promote cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide strategic input and technical guidance on cross-functional teams; set technical/scientific direction.
- Author Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), including TFL shells; develop xFDR plan, KRM, and DDP.
- Lead collaboration with statistical programming and other functions to deliver high-quality TFLs.
- Lead or contribute to external interactions with regulators, payers, and review boards.
- Author/co-author methodological or study-related publications and posters.
- Lead innovative study designs/analysis methods; participate in SRF discussions.
- Contribute to departmental working groups on technical/operational issues.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Project management and team oversight.
- Expertise with SAS and R.
- Advanced/complex drug development statistical methods.
- Critical thinking and logical problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; influence peers and managers.
- Team collaboration; explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- NDA/MAA experience and direct dealings with USA/European regulators.

Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. or master’s degree in Statistics or Biostatistics.
- Typically 10 years (Ph.D.) or 13 years (master’s), or equivalent combination.
