Position Summary
- Director of Biostatistics: members of a cross-functional team contributing to development of compounds within a therapeutic area. Drives innovative, efficient clinical trial design (populations, endpoints), supports regulatory approval and market access, and contributes to clinical development plans, submissions, and post-submission strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead statistical support for compound development in a therapeutic area.
- Guide/manage statisticians to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
- Act as a scientific/strategic partner on high-level development teams.
- Present and defend complex statistical solutions to governance, stakeholders, and external regulators.
- Lead GBDS-related submission activities and post-submission preparations/defenses.
- Provide statistical support for health authority requests and public release (publication/presentation).
- Ensure compliance with BMS processes/SOPs and global/project standards.
- Develop/maintain and train statistical departmental SOPs.
- Manage budget/resources; allocate company resources as needed; set priorities.
- Represent BMS at professional societies and industry technical discussions.
- Coach team members; enable a culture of candor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- PhD (9+ years) or MS (11+ years) in statistics/biostatistics or related field with clinical trials/drug development/pharma/healthcare.
- Proficiency in SAS, R, or Python; advanced statistical analysis, data manipulation, graphing, simulation.
- Strong communication, writing, organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Expertise in clinical trial methodology aligned with regulatory/industry standards.
- Experience with global regulatory agency interactions.
- People manager preferred: at least 3 years direct or matrix management.
