Role: Director, Bioprocess Development within Biologics Research, leading the design, buildout, and execution of upstream and downstream bioprocessing capabilities for early-stage biologics candidates. Responsibilities: build and mentor a high-performing team, develop state-of-the-art labs, define equipment and platform strategies for microbial (E. coli) and mammalian expression systems, and drive process development from bench to preclinical scale. Collaborate across Discovery, Analytical, and CMC teams, supporting multiple biologics modalities (enzymes, antibodies, fusion proteins), ensuring processes meet program timelines and manufacturability standards. Provide technical expertise in cell culture, media optimization, scale-up, and purification workflows, contributing to experimental design, troubleshooting, documentation, and tech transfer. Interface with CMC and external partners for process transfer and regulatory readiness. Requirements: PhD in chemical/biochemical engineering, biology, or related field with 5+ years biotech/pharma experience or M.S. with 8+ years industry experience, specializing in biologics process development. Deep knowledge of microbial and mammalian expression, upstream/downstream processes, and early-stage CMC. Proven leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Nice to have: GMP exposure, experience with diverse biologic modalities, lab construction, and scale-up expertise. Location: Lebanon, NH; full-time onsite with minimal travel. Compensation: $185K-$252.5K/year.
