Role: Lead the discovery and development of bacterial vaccines within early infectious disease research, managing a scientific team and driving portfolio advancement. Responsibilities: oversee candidate antigen discovery and characterization, deliver preclinical research supporting pipeline progression and regulatory interactions, and serve as subject matter expert across programs. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including academic institutions and CROs, to expand the vaccine pipeline and optimize assay development for clinical translation. Present findings internally and at scientific conferences, and guide IP strategies. Qualifications: PhD in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, or biochemistry with 8+ years industry experience. Proven leadership managing scientific teams, with a strong track record in bacterial vaccine research, immune response characterization, and small animal efficacy models. Familiarity with functional immunological assays such as opsonophagocytic killing and serum bactericidal assays. Experience supporting interdisciplinary vaccine R&D programs from early research through candidate selection, with budget management skills.
