Director, AI Governance & Policy

Role: Lead enterprise AI Governance and Policy at Vertex, focusing on establishing frameworks, policies, and platforms for responsible AI adoption across the organization. Responsibilities: develop and execute AI governance strategies, oversee risk management, manage governance platforms, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations (FDA, EMA, GDPR, HIPAA, EU AI Act). Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Security, Data Governance, and Business teams; lead AI Policy Council and promote Responsible AI culture. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Law, or related; 10+ years in technology, governance, or AI-related fields; 5+ years leading enterprise governance programs; experience managing governance platforms. Preferred: advanced degrees (MBA, JD), certifications (AIGP, CIPP, CRISC, CISM), experience in healthcare or biotech industries, and familiarity with GxP, regulatory standards. High-Value: enterprise AI governance, Responsible AI, generative AI, large language models, AI risk frameworks, regulated industry experience, and compliance with FDA, EMA, GDPR, HIPAA.
