Role: Lead the development and management of enterprise AI platforms and agent ecosystems within a biopharma context, focusing on scalable, secure AI-powered solutions to support clinical, research, and commercial functions. Responsibilities include architecting multi-agent coordination systems, reusable agent templates, self-service RAG tools, and enterprise registries for APIs and prompts. The role emphasizes building intuitive, low-code interfaces for non-engineers, establishing evaluation frameworks, and ensuring adherence to AI governance, regulatory, and data privacy standards (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR). Collaboration involves partnering with IT, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and various business units across medical, research, and commercial domains. The position requires 8+ years in AI/ML or software engineering, with significant experience in enterprise AI capabilities, LLM frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI), and RAG solutions. Biopharma familiarity includes understanding healthcare data sources and industry-specific regulatory environments. The role is hybrid (San Diego, South San Francisco, or Princeton) with travel as needed. A bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is mandatory; advanced degrees and specific AI framework expertise are preferred. The position reports to senior leadership, contributing to AI strategy and governance in a regulated, innovative environment.
