Role: The Director of AI Engineering leads the development and management of Acadia's enterprise AI platform, focusing on scalable, secure, and impactful AI solutions across the organization. Responsibilities include architecting multi-agent systems, designing reusable templates, managing agent coordination, and building self-service RAG and tool registries. They ensure AI solutions adhere to governance, safety, and regulatory standards, including GxP and privacy requirements. The role involves partnering with IT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders, driving platform adoption, and contributing to AI strategy and governance. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI, or related field; 8+ years in AI/ML and software engineering, with at least 4+ years building production-grade, LLM-powered AI systems; expertise in agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI SDK), RAG solutions, and enterprise AI capabilities; proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and compliance with AI regulations. Preferred: Experience in biopharma or healthcare data, regulated environments, and cross-functional collaboration. Work setup: Hybrid with onsite attendance three days per week at San Diego, South San Francisco, or Princeton.
