AbbVie is seeking a Director of AI Business Strategy & Implementation to drive the strategic vision and practical implementation of AI solutions across Operations, aligned with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices. The Director leads AI strategy to optimize manufacturing processes, engineering solutions, and contracting operations to improve operational efficiency, innovation, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions across Operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Quality, Compliance, Data Science) to identify and execute high-impact AI initiatives.
- Lead a cross-functional team and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Create and execute an AI strategy roadmap for Operations.
- Oversee AI project governance to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and compliant (e.g., FDA, GxP).
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, and regulatory guidance relevant to pharmaceutical manufacturing and engineering.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders and represent AbbVie at industry forums as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Engineering, Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of Biopharma Manufacturing/Engineering experience in manufacturing/engineering/highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated AI strategy, deployment, and lifecycle management expertise.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, FDA/GxP compliance, and digital transformation.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management abilities.
