Director, Advanced Analytics Architecture & Operations

Role: Director of Advanced Analytics Architecture & Operations, leading the strategy and execution of advanced analytics, data science platforms, and GenAI solutions within Gilead's Data Science Development Systems team. Responsibilities: define and implement technology roadmaps for scalable, compliant analytics platforms; partner with business units to set AI/analytics vision, including medical imaging and emerging data science capabilities; oversee open-source strategies, governance, and alignment with enterprise standards; collaborate with IT and stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency and delivery of high-impact solutions; lead engineering teams to operationalize AI and MLOps best practices. Requirements: B.S. or higher in a technical/scientific field; extensive experience in analytics, data science, and cloud-native platforms; strong leadership in AI, machine learning, GenAI, and MLOps; proficiency with Python, cloud data platforms, and modern analytics tools; experience in regulated industries, preferably biotech or life sciences, with knowledge of drug development phases and clinical trial data. Preferred: experience with high-performance computing, Databricks, and specific industry workflows. Work setup: site-based in Foster City, CA.
