Ophthalmology Account Director (OAD) - South Central (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, TX, TN & VA)
Responsibilities:
- Represent the ophthalmology product portfolio and serve as liaison between customers and Regeneron.
- Lead and educate/influence customers (including large provider practices and private equity groups) and internal audiences (Market Access, Brand, Executive leadership).
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute integrated account business plans and contract/pull-through efforts.
- Manage and educate on GPO/provider contracts; administer and support contract pull-through.
- Maximize customer engagement by identifying and engaging relevant audiences (C-suite, KOLs, business and reimbursement staff).
- Explain quarterly GPO program changes, deliver contract performance updates, and conduct quarterly business reviews.
- Gather customer feedback on the GPO program and share with Market Access and Brand leadership.
- Seek engagement opportunities at regional/national retinal meetings.
- Understand payer mix, inventory levels, operational challenges, and reimbursement dynamics.
- Spend ~75% of time on customer-facing activities (prioritize in-person meetings).
Qualifications:
- 10–12 years progressive industry/relevant experience.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech or related experience.
- Additional valued experience: sales operations, corporate partnerships, marketing, sales management, and/or supply chain.
- Experience launching specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications.
- Proven relationships/knowledge of executive decision-makers from retina and relevant GPOs/institutional trade partners.
- Prior retina account or brand experience.
- Demonstrated communication (presentation, negotiation, content development) and results/strategic planning skills (event planning, meeting facilitation).
- Understanding of financial concepts/contracting and ability to measure contract performance.
- Demonstrated outsourced vendor management skills.
- Ability to travel 50–75% (including weekends as necessary).
