Summary of Position The Design Verification Engineer Intern plays a pivotal role in verification test development and execution of the qualification phase of complex medical devices. Responsibilities • TESTING: Help perform testing on complex electromechanical medical devices, record data per Good Documentation Practices. Test Method Development and correction as needed. • ENGINEERING: Assist in development of verification methods to prove requirements across multiple system and subsystem levels. Use architecture and integration knowledge to generate optimal coverage. • DATA INTEGRITY: Ensure data integrity, product and design traceability, clarity and accuracy of quantitative evidence across all verification deliverables. • COMMUNICATION: Clear and accurate communication with multi-disciplinary project team members, stakeholders, and management. Communicate execution progress, test outcome and risk on a timely manner. Be solution oriented and propose solution options. • SUPPORT: Support development of Verification plans and protocols development, test execution across multiple sites and reports generation. Adhere to project scope, timelines and budget. • COMPLIANCE: Help generate evidence for product compliance with industry recognized test standards and medical device regulations. • PROCESS: Assist in test method development. Perform test execution, anomalies resolution. • TOOLING: Assist in development, qualification, and transfer of test tools to facilitate design test automation with: Off the shelf software products, test scripts, custom electrical test harnesses and mechanical fixtures. • LABORATORY: Adherence to industry standard accreditation and general good laboratory practices throughout internal and external verification execution activities. Minimum Requirements Education / Experience / Skills: Student in Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Software, electrical, mechanical, biomedical or combined engineering. Previous work experience in any field. Enthusiastic and driven. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and management. Knowledge and use of MS Office and software tools for issue tracking and test traceability. Hands-on ability to perform testing. Process and detail oriented. Data driven. Principled and disciplined.
