The Scientist 3 - QC is responsible for testing raw materials, in-process and finished pharmaceutical dosage forms, products on stability, and cleaning verification samples following written procedures and applicable SOPs. Calculates and reports results on applicable specification documents and participates in method transfer activities within or between facilities/organizations. Provides feedback on systems and analytical procedures to support continuous improvement and compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Perform physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished pharmaceutical products (including stability) per written methods, material specifications, SOPs, and company policies; comply with cGMP and applicable regulations.
- Participate in assigned project work; perform process validation and cleaning validation/verification testing; assist with analytical, instrument, and software issues.
- Use and calibrate analytical instruments including sonic sifter, laser diffraction, Karl Fischer, UV-Vis/IR spectrophotometers, HPLC (UV and conductivity), TLC, pH meter, and dissolution systems.
- Document analysis steps; calculate/report results; participate in laboratory result investigations.
- Review data for completeness and specification compliance; report abnormal findings to the Supervisor and ensure analytical records are technically correct and compliant.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Support non-routine special projects (e.g., OOS/OAL investigations); remove expired chemicals/reference standards from lab area.
- Calibrate HPLC/GC and other equipment as assigned.
- Assist with hands-on training of newly hired Technicians or Scientists 1–2.

Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Chemistry or related science (Required); MS/MA preferred.
- 5+ years (BS) or 3+ years (MS) testing chemicals/pharmaceutical products.
- In-depth analytical chemistry knowledge; ability to follow compendial procedures (USP/EP/BP/JP); apply cGMP; troubleshoot complex analytical/instrument problems; identify trends in analytical data.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated): Base salary $85,000–$105,000/year; short-term incentive/bonus opportunity within first 12 months; comprehensive health/insurance and 401(k) match.
