Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data for business users.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large datasets of clinical outcomes for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design/development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements; build dashboard outputs using ETL-sourced data in an agile environment.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties/special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience designing ETL strategies for multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet for business use.

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
