Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data from electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other systems into Caris environments. They help create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data for business users.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between non-technical business needs and technical process owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome data sets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design/development for clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access across platforms via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as required; accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently on application software problems.
- Experience defining external access and ETL strategies across multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet use for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in IT technologies, security architecture, and system lifecycle.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare data).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL deployment tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
