Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, other customer systems) into Caris environments. Builds, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and leads data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and define integration approaches; translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets and prepare data for ingestion.
- Design and develop clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure based on business needs.
- Enable access to EMR data across platforms using database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work in an agile manner to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience; Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic certification: Beaker and/or Bridges.
- Ability to work independently; establish ETL strategies across multiple data sources (EMRs).
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and analyze results.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard building (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tool deployment experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
